Dear,
In SAP S/4HANA Public Cloud Edition for Asset Management, there is the following request: in the screening phase, while in the "Screen Maintenance Request" tile, we can accept/reject a maintenance request (Y1) > since there is no existing workflow for notifications, how can we alert (sending an email) the technician to say if a maintenance request has been accepted/rejected? Creating a custom output item?
If there is an existing solution, can you please elaborate?
I have a reference here: https://community.sap.com/t5/enterprise-resource-planning-blogs-by-members/how-to-set-up-the-email-n... but as stipulated, this is for a workflow.
Thank you very much,
Dany R.

Hi Dany,
Yes you are correct, there's no business workflow getting triggered in the screening of the Notification, so you won't be able to use any of that to trigger the email.
One option to look at might be to use the 'Situation Handling' capability in S/4 Public Cloud in order to 'notify a user' when an event has occurred (Business Object of Maintenance Notification has changed status).
Think of it instead of creating a 'workflow', its creating a 'situation' that can then have an action off the back of it (email recipient)
Situation handling will send a Fiori Launchpad notification, but it can also send emails.
In the Asset Management module, we do not currently have pre-built situation template for this, so you would need to use the Situation Handling - Extended Framework guidance here, along with the business role of a 'extensibility specialist', to build out this use case around the Maintenance Notification object.
To be transparent, I haven't built this out in my system yet, so would need to play around with the concept in more detail to check if its viable.
