Can you give some details as to the proces you are using as the SAP standard process is that when a fault is found then the end user creates a notification this is then converted into an order if work needs to e carried out. If the same fault is reported again then SAP provides the facility that you can assign multiple notifications to one maintenance order. This reduces the likely hood of multiple maintenances orders for the same job.

hi

we can use the object information pop up during creation of orders and notifictions.user can check the last active orders, notifications whether created or not.

for workaround then can the check the orders in IW38 before creation.

i dont think so.Since order descriptions are free text.

we can do something if we able to maintain standard text key like operation. so that we can put some checks with last order of reference equipment.

The Object Info button is an easy option but often doesn't describe a customer's definition of duplicate job.

It is possible to development a customer-specific solution via user-exit/BADI etc.

But what criteria would you use to determine if a job was a duplicate?
