1) For a greenfield implementation, does S/4 HANA 1610 have CRM,SRM,BW,SCM,PLM,TM - or are they required as individual systems?

2) How does industry solutions work on S/4? For eg: IS-OIL or IS-UTIL on ECC. Are they applicable as industry solutions on S/4 as well?

Thank you!

Hi Jim,

To add to Julien, S/4HANA comes with different editions. The cloud edition comprises of below 4 options

1. S/4HANA Finance Cloud - Package designed to run company's FINANCE DEPT & beyond

2. S/4HANA Marketing Edition Cloud - intended for marketing LOB & focused on optimizing the marketing activities. Integrate with Hybris & C4C

3. S/4HANA Professional Services Cloud - For the Professional Services industry takes care from Project MGMT, invoicing, HR to professional automation

4. S/4HANA Enterprise Management Cloud - Next GEN ERP run company End-To-End

S/4HANA will not replace BW, instead when co-deployed with BW you wil get best of both the worlds. S/4HANA embedded analytics will help in real-time operational reporting and BW will help in historical reporting, data consolidation from SAP and non-SAP etc

Hi Jim,

These are excellent questions:

1) The satellite systems CRM, SRM, BW, SCM, PLM, TM are optional and depend on your scope and infrastructure.
For instance, for procurement, you might choose to use only S/4HANA or implement SRM or Ariba.
In addition, SAP development is making an extra effort to retrofit some of these features back to the core.
This is especially the case for TM (Transportation Management) with S/4HANA 1709.
Last, for BW, you might want to consider BW/4HANA.

2) Most industry solutions are now available on S/4HANA, but there again the development team is trying to retrofit
industry-specific features back into the core. You will have to dig into the roadmap documentation to find out more.
Example: IS-Media is available, but the Omnichannel features are due in 2018: http://roadmaps.sap.com/
