If the volume of document storage is large then it is better to use DMS.

i think if you want to just make use of soem links/attcahments/ small files of may be upto few MB then attchment option is better than implementing DMS.

but as said if you want to keep each file of the employee in scanned formats and all other related material in the system and make it available at all times then must go for DMS.......

DMS decision depends on the characteristic and quantity of your documents.

Generally speaking, as far as I have seen, DMS is not used for HR documents, but for logistics documents instead.

One more option that deserves to be mentioned is the Knowledge Management that comes with Portal solution. However, all these document management tools may require more effort than needed for HR docs.

Hi prakruthi,

If documents are related to personnel master data you can use Services for Object button in PA30 transaction to create attachments.

If, for the organizational management objects' master data, the same button resides in PP01 (upper left corner of the screen) too.
