DMS for long text

Hi

Can we use DMS for populating long text? for exmaple long text of equipment,functional location. I am aware that BDC is one of the way.

Do you have DMS installed at client? Just populating long text does not call for long text functionality. BDC should obviously help you populate long text. SAP stores long text as compressed objects i.e. it compresses long text data and is stored in a different way.
