Dear Experts,

We have maintained a distribution key in production version to create planned order quantity of 1000 PC in to 10 lots of 100 PC each. But System has created only one planned order instead of the 10 planned Orders. What may be wrong for not creating 10 planned orders. Please advice.

Hello

The distribution key is not used to generate several planned orders. With a distribution key, the order quantity is distributed between the start and finish date when you see it in transaction MD04. If you want several planned orders, you need to use a lot sizing procedure.

Thanks Almedia. Have maintained the distribution key to split the planned order quantity in 10 parts between the start and the finish dates. Problem is system is not creating the 10 planned orders and only one . When checked the planned order production version is not copied . Is that the distribution key maintained in production version will take effect only when planned order is converted to a production order ?

Does it have Repetitive manufacturing check 'REM Allowed'. The function should work if it only 'Repetative'

Hello

It seems that you have a problem that is the fact that the production version is not copied to the planned order. In this case, you should check the BOM selection method in material master.

Nevertheless, even if the production version is selected with a distribution key, MRP will still generate only one planned order. This is a standard behavior that cannot be changed. If you want to split in 10 planned orders, you need to use a lot sizing procedure.

Hi Crazy,

Please check your lot size which was maintained in the material master. Please try to use fixed lot size in-order to meet your requirement.

For Example - Lot Size - FX and the fixed lot size qnty - 100 PC.

Thanks,

Kumar

Thanks Kumar. But we don't want to use the fixed lot size as we want to distribute the production quantity between basic start and finish date. If we use the distribution key , the start date is same and only the finish date will vary and we want to have only one planned order number. In case of fixed lot size , system will have different planned order numbers for each lot , which we don't want to have.
