Hello,
I have assigned Distribution Key as GLEI (Equal Distribution) for one BOM component. With this key I am able to see split in MD04 for component but there is no such indication of requirement split in production order component detail or material reservation.
Can you please help with some more information like how split can be seen duing replenishment.
This is important issue for me and hence your prompt reply will be of much help.
Thanks and regards.

I'm not sure that I understand your problem. Distribution, means distribution of dependent requirements, and you see them in MD04. Then, when you run MRP you get a planned order/purchase requisition/delivery schedule for each requirement.
What else are you expecting?

Hello Mario,
Yes I can see dependent requirements and reservation in MD04. But when I go for material replenishment for production then I dont see any split in requirement. We have WM active and hence material replenishment is done using LP12. In LP12 when we enter date then system show Total Requirement quantity on single day.
Hence, requirement is if Equal Distribution Key is maintained in BOM component, system should split the replenishment requiements also on whole duration and there should not be whole rplenishment requirement at the begining of period.
I hope this time I was able to explain the issue.
Let me know if any further informaiton is required from myside.
Thanks and regards,
Devang
Hi,
This is a copy of the SAP help for the field:
Distribution key for component consumption
Determines the split to be used for distributing the run schedule quantity (into partial quantities) over the validity period of the planned order or the production order. In so doing, the relationship between time and the consumption of components is established.
Use
This means that the MRP controller can plan a daily supply of partial quantities (distributed over the validity period of the RS header) for repetitive manufacturing.
And as you can see this functionality works only in Repetitive Manufacturing.
