Dear All Experts/Gurus,

I have a problem about how to distinguish the add-on identifier string generated using solution license's license key name. The detail of the solution license in the license file :

SAPSYSTEM=B01

HARDWARE-KEY=C20754521344

INSTNO=0020183866

BEGIN=20070503

EXPIRATION=20070518

SWPRODUCTNAME=BASIS0000002111_MSS

SWPRODUCTTEXT=DEL_Solution

SWPRODUCTLIMIT=0000000010

SYSTEM-NR=000000000310538141

The situations are as follows :

1.

If I use BASIS0000002111_MSS in the license key name, the add-on identifier string generates :

4CC3B880E0043A4448A1389440128503E8328C8C37B24D1411B22700A54EBD435

D266E2B50C59B9D9FC80FAB44FE35C0B608E77DB7BB8DA9BC5D2C018B17

2.

If I use BASIS0000002111 in the license key name, the add-on identifier string generates:

<i>4CC3B880E0043A4448A1389440128503E8328C8C37B24D1411B22700A54EBD265

D286E4A50A69B909FBE0FAD44FB35C2B608E77FB7B8</i>

If I put the no. 1 string, the error message when run the add-on is run-time error '-7201 (ffffe3df)' License does not exist. The add-on only runs if I use add-on identifier string generated using BASIS0000002111. I don't know why the first string (using BASIS0000002111_MSS) can't be used to run the add-on. I have tried to explore it but I can't understand yet. I really have no idea. I appreciate your answer so much. TIA

The idea is that an Add-On should ideally be "able" run on all DB platforms which are supported by the B1 product...

...therefore the licensing mechanism ignores the suffix "_MSS" (would be "_DB2" for DB2 if I am not mistaken)...

Sorry that this isn't mentioned in the documentation; we will fix it.

Regards (and sorry for the XX-late reply),

Frank

Thanks a lot for your reply.I finally use BASIS code without "_MSS". I just confused the license mechanics realize the suffix "_MSS" after it pasted to source code. I thought when I generate string using licensekey name including _MSS, the string will not be generated in the add-on identifier generator.

Rgds,
