Hi,

CBP is based on the past consumption data.It depends upon the forecasting data. Forecasting, Reorder point planning and time phased planning is used in CBP.

MRP is planning for the future depending on present situation and expectations. It depends upon the lot size that we gave in MRP1.

Thanks

Raja

Hi Arif,

In case of "MRP" the calculations (that provide the procurement proposals) are based on the requirements you input (I mean PIR, SO, etc).

In case of consumption based planning you get the procurement proposals based on your stock level, and master data such as reorder point, maximum stock level, etc.

Of course, in certain cases you can consider open stock-like lements (PO, PrdOrd) but basically the calculation is not based on requirements.

However, you have to use MRP for CBP as well, so it belongs to "MRP" that means you cannot separate them totally.

I would say that there are different kind of stock control strategies, one of them is CBP.

Csaba
