Hi SAP Gurus
we are running unplanned depriciation through T Code- ABAA,while doing so we are geting error that Dep area is assigned to group asset so this function is not possible. In our case one of the Dep area assigned in Asset Master data is assigned to Group Assets.
Same configuration was in 4.6 which we have recently upgraded to ECC 6.0. We were doing the unplanned Dep run in 4.6 but after upgradation system is not allowing us to do so and giving the error above mentioned.
please advice us on the issue

Hello Pavan
Unplanned depreciation in areas which are assigned to a group asset needs to be posted directly on the group asset because only the group asset calculates depreciation. This was the same in previous releases.
So the correct handling will be to copy transaction type 640 or 650 to Zxx (for example) and limit the new transaction type to all non-group areas. Then copy again 640/650 to another new transaction type Zyy (for example) and limit that one to the group area.
Then you should post the unplanned depreciation to the single asset for all non-group areas with Zxx and post on the group asset with Zyy for the group area.
You can limit the transaction type via transaction OAXE or in the IMG - FI-AA-Transactions
-> Define Transaction types for manual depreciation
-> define TT for unplanned dep (transaction AO78)
-> limit TT to dep. area (transaction OAXE)
Regards
Javier
