Delivery Grouping

I need some config information for Delivery groups. Any help would be appreciated..

hi andrew,

if you are referring to delivering of line items at the order level together as in case of a sales BOM, we prefer to give them together. for eg. to ensure that all the components of a computer are delivered together we maintain a delivery group at the parent item level that is Computer.

So when we deliver computer, it ensures to include a minimum complete set possibly a mouse, CPU, Monitor, Keyboard, two speakers. like that. We wouldnt want a situation where we deliver a computer without a monitor or CPU.

Delivery groups help here. You can find a check box for delivery group at the item category control in VOV7.

hi andrew,

the Field delivery group in the order, we holt together several items into one delivery. The effect ist - no delivery split.

The LE - shipment - Group we use intead of the huge le_transport. The shipment Group for me is a number of deliveries, that will be shiped together. Starting form the delivery-group, i can print documents i.e. for transportation.

Thank you for your response guys. I still need to know that for Delivery gp do we need to set the config only in the item cat of the sales doc or do we have to make any changes in deliv config. What is the functionality in LE-shippin-Deliv grouping used for?
