Deleting Cost Center Validity Period

Dear Experts,

I have a cost center A with validity period 01.01.2013 to 31.12.9999 its already transaction posted to the cost center, recently by mistake I add new validity period 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013. How do I roll back/delete this Validity period of 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013?

Kindly suggest any possible solution.

Thanks in advance!

Warm Regards,

Aulia Rasyidi

Aulia, did you shorten the validity period from 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013 by delete from  29.01.2013 to  31.12.9999, or did you just add (makes no sense but SAP will let you get away with it) 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013 (with some change to master data), such that your periods now looks like: 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013; 29.01.2013 to 31.12.9999?

Either way, you cannot delete this validity period if you have posted data for January.

The correct thing to do at this point is to synch up your master data. That is, make sure the master data values for 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013, is the same for 29.01.2013 to 31.12.9999.

When you do that, SAP will automatically put the validity periods back to 01.01.2013 to 31.12.9999 (as long as you don't have transactional data posted since your last change to master data values/validity period.)

Let me know if this works for you.

Sam

Dear Sam,

I did not delete the interval 01.01.2013 - 31.12.9999, i just added new interval 01.01.2013- 28.01.2013

On interval 01.01.2013-31.12.9999 I named the cost center: Cost Center A

On interval 01.01.2013-28.01.2013 I changed it to: Cost Center A (Not Active)

Did you mean I should change the cost center's name back to "Cost Center A" in interval 01.01.2013-28.01.2013?

Warm Regards,

Aulia

Hi,

the new validity period 01.01.2013 to 28.01.2013 is within the original validity period 01.01.2013 to 31.12.9999, so why/what do you want to roll back/delete?
