Defective material in a Batch

Hi SAP Experts,

Greetings to all. I wish to ask one question:

I need to do the Batch Management but just wanted to know how to handle following scenario:

"Batch consist of x number of materials and one material in the batch is defective".

I dont want to Block the whole batch for only one material.

Please suggest how to handle this scenario.

create another batch in MSC1N, then move this 1 defective part with MIGO and movement 311 from the old to the new batch
