Data Migration testing Cycles in S/4 HANA Public Cloud

With only 2 environments (Q & P) available for S/4 HANA Public Cloud, how can we manage multiple (1,2,3...) Data Migration Testing cycles in Q environment without data purging/ system refresh. What is SAP's recommended approach to this?

How do we conduct Mock Data Cutover (Dress rehearsal) where we test the full scale data migration for Master and Transactional data as Q system already has data loaded from Trial Migrations.

How to we manage data migration for Open transactions across Trial migrations (1,2,3) for scenarios where open objects loaded from Trial Migration 1 are still open and part of Trial Migration 2 load. This is specially for transactions having longer cycle time.

Hi Dhiren Patel

The Migration Cockpit(Migrate Your Data app) is build to initially migrate data. It is not a Mass maintenance tool and not build to be use as an interface to permanently upload data into the system.

2650201 - Migration Cockpit: How to create/update data records

Once the record has been migrated into your system via migrate your data app, when you migrate records with the same key fields again, an error "the records has existed in your system" may be generated during the simulation phase to prevent you from continuing the migration.Because Migrate Your Data app doesn't support update data, it prevents duplicate data from being created.

If you would like to test, please create a new migration project and use records with different key fields.

You can find whether a field is key field by checking the "field list" sheet of the template. It is named "key" in "Group Name" column.

Best regards,

Stephen
