Is Customer Vendor Integration (CVI) possible on a non-Unicode, lets say on ECC 6 EHP 6 system ?

As long I know that is possible at SAP Customizing Implementation Guide->Cross-Application Components->Master Data Synchronization->Customer/Vendor Integration in ECC. I have used several times.
