Dear friends,

Could anybody clarify what is the importance of running MD61(Customer independent requirements)?

What Md61 will do after executing? Is it plan for material reservation?

When should i run this transaction?

What is the differnce between MRP Run(MD02) and Md61?

Please clarify

HI,

Thanks.

MD61--(Planned independent req.)

If you run md61, you get planned ind.req.

Then if u run md02, the planned ind.req also will be converted as planned order along with customer ind. req.

Is it so?

Then customer independent req is nothing but sales order.

In which situation i should run MD61?

Please clarify?

Thanks

Hi

For your first question:

if u run md02, the planned ind.req also will be converted as planned order along with customer ind. req.

Is it so?

Yes, planned orders will be created after MRP run for the entries you do in MD61.

The demand management version with which you are creating the PIR should be active.

Then only it will be considered during MRP run and panned order will get created.

For the second:

Then customer independent req is nothing but sales order.

In which situation i should run MD61?

No, the entries you make in MD61 are not sales order.

In Sales order materials are registered based on the customer's requirement.

But in MD61 you have only the material.

When you are making material to stock, you go for MD61.

MD61 is used in demand management.

When you make goods considering the demand, you do entries in MD61.

So, MD61 is used in scenarios when the goods are made considering the demand in market & not customer specific.

Hope this is helpful!

Hi,

Really it is helpful.

What do you mean by activating demand management version active?

What should i enter in this version field while i am running MC74(Transfer planning data to demand management)?

Then one more query.....

So to run md61, should i do SOP procedures(mc8a,creating macros, mc93)or i can directly do md61?

What is the difference between md61 and SOP?

What is SOP ? When should i run SOP?

Please clarify?

Hi

The transaction MD61 is used to enter the Planned Independent Requirements.

The transaction MD01 or MD02 is used to do

the Material requirements planning (MRP run) at plant-level

& at Material level respectively.

When the MRP run MD01 at plant-level (or) MD02 at material level is executed,

the system considers the entries in the MD61 &

also considers the entries of the Sales order corresponding to the particular material

to plan the material requirement for production.

In the sales order, the materials are associated with the customer's requirements.

Whereas in the MD61 the material requirement planning is

done without considering the customer's requirement.

Based on the sales forecast & various other factors,

the material requirements are given in the MD61.

So, the entries in the MD61 should be completed before

doing the MRP run (MD01 or MD02),

so that the material requirements planning are done.

on MRP run:
