Custom SOAP service in public cloud (using ABAP development tools)

I am aware that consumption/usage of SOAP services is supported in the public cloud.

https://api.sap.com/products/SAPS4HANACloud/apis/SOAP

However, are we allowed to create our own SOAP service via ADT? I noticed that from the SAP guide, it is not there in the list of options:

https://help.sap.com/docs/SAP_S4HANA_CLOUD/6aa39f1ac05441e5a23f484f31e477e7/94ebfa045c75426ea32045f6...

But since SOAMANAGER is not available anymore and SOAP services uses BAPI/RFC (which is not exactly recommended now unless we are connecting to on-premise SAP solutions), are we supposed to migrate our existing SOAP services to an oDATA service?

Hello Rammel,

thank you for the question. You are correct that currently there is only the possibility to create SOAP outbound services through a Service Consumption Model via WSDL file.

As your link points to the inbound communication I assume that you want to create a SOAP inbound service (Service Provider) via WSDL file which is not supported at the moment.

We are already working on that and you will be able to create these kind of services by a so called SOAP Provider Model just as you do for outbound services via WSDL file. This feature will be made public in one of the upcoming releases.

Best regards,
Pietro
