Hi All
My client would like to implement a custom cycle counting solution, however I am not sure if it is possible. I would really appreciate some help. They do not want to go the standard cycle counting route.
1. Business requires the development of a Cycle Counting Calendar to block off days where regions cannot count. This will cause the system not to generate picking documents for that specific week(Only the calculated days which no counting can be done)
2. Business requires a development in SAP to show the stock counted per week and where adjustments were made in terms of the number of line items. A the moment transaction ZMI24 provides this information but only in terms of value and not line items.
3. We require a change in the definition or calculation of the ABCD indicators that are used for CYCLE counting. At the moment transaction MIBC calculates these indicators using any movement(In a given time period) in the plant and multiplies it with the value. We would like to have it linked up to the PIC inventory policy definition.
This sounds like a bigger own development and modification work.
Cycle counting is based on plant calendar, but if you define the days as non-working days, then you can achieve not to get picking requests for these days, but you also block production and as well cycle counting proposals (which does not mean that you can't count on these days)
Picking request actually don't hurt, open TOs do, and their creation is usually in the hand of the warehouse people.
If it is about picking for deliveries then you can use a different calendar than your plant calendar and assign it to the shipping point, so you wont get deliveries for the desired counting dates.
Regarding your 2nd point. This ZMI24 is already an homemade report, probably based on a copy of SAPs MI24, but since it is your won report now your ABAPers can further tweak it to your needs.
The CC indicators are calculated as defined by SAP, nevertheless you can enter your desired CC indicators manually in the material master without using the SAP report. You can also use MM17 for a mass update. If you want the CC indicators be calculated on different figures than SAP defined it, then you have to create your own report to do that. You can also do this outside in Excel, you can also call the BAPI for material maintenance from within your own ABAP calculation program for auto update of the CC indicator to avoid the extra step with MM17
