Creating Sales Plan from forecast.

Hi All,

I want to create Sales Plan (SOP) from Historical Consumption Data (given in the Material Master in Forecasting view). The MRP type has also been set to "VV".

However when I try to create a Sales Plan from Forecast (in MC87 - Create Plan) I get the following error message "Error reading consumption data".

Please reply ASAP.

Thanks in advance.

Sameer.

Hi Tajuddin,

I have already maintained the consumption data in the "Consumption" tab.

Are there any settings that need to be done?

Please reply at earliest.

Thanks

You create a sales plan through forecast in the Sales and Operations

Planning with Transaction MC88, MC76 or MC94 with the planning type

SOPKAPAM or SOPDIS.You have maintained different factory calendars for info

structure S076 (Transaction MC7F) and the planning objects of your plants

(plant calendar). If the horizon of the factory calendar for the plants is

shorter than for info structure S076, the system generates an error message

during forecast:'Error reading consumption data' (MA518) or 'Insoluble

problem reading factory calendar for ID & date &' (MA505).

Cause and Prerequisites

To allow the online-change of the parameters during forecast, sufficient

historical values must be read from the material master. The program has

been designed in a way that all historical data is read which is in the

horizon of the factory calendar for info structure S076. However, the

factory calendar is used for the plant during the import of the consumption

data from the material master. That is why the factory calendar for the

plants must also contain a date for every date from the factory calendar

for info structure S076.

Solution

As mentioned in the cause, the horizon of the factory calendar for the

plants must not be shorter than the horizon of the factory calendar for

info structure S076. During the weekly period, the horizon of the plant

calendar must be longer than that of the factory calendar for information

structure S076 since the beginning of the first week of a year takes place

mostly in the previous year.

Maintain the factory calendar for the plants such that it at least

corresponds to the release period of the factory calendar of the

information structure.
