Jeff,

R/3 is completely different software from SCM. R/3 does have some demand planning functionality. SCM is SAP's Advanced planning tool, which is typically interfaced/integrated with R/3. The suite of Demand Planning functionality is much richer in SCM.

I don't know what you mean by 'demand planning scenario'. If you can be more specific, perhaps I can be helpful.

Here is the link to SAP SCM Demand Planning module online help

If you want to just log onto an SCM sandbox and dive in, try the Best Practices DP configuration guide:

http://help.sap.com/bp_scmv250/BBLibrary/Documentation/DPL_BB_ConfigGuide_EN_DE.doc

If you follow this guide, you should be able to implement a bare bones DP.

Here is a nice school entry level

and another one for more experienced consultants

Thx Dogboy,

I work in SCM side only. One of my client requriement is using APO DP forecast , they want to create a long term planning in R3. So, they want me to push the forecast to R3 in different version and using that data is it possible to create long term planning using SM31 in R3. Sorry for not clear in my previous question.

thx

Jef,

It is I that should apologize. You said exactly what you meant, and I ASSumed it meant something else. My bad!

I have never tried what you asked, perhaps one of the other experts has done this. If I were to guess, I would think that you could relase the DP plan directly to ERP under a version (/SAPAPO/REL_TO_OLTP). Then, use MS31 to assign the PIRs to a scenario. I reiterate that I am guessing!

There is some step-by-step for LTP stuff within one of the Best Practices docs, starting on page 13, might be helpful to give a glance....

Sorry I can't be of more assistance.
