Creating a Sub-Con PO/Req within a Work Order

Hello experts,

We are trying to setup an Operation in a Routing that will trigger to generate a sub-con Req/PO when a Production Planned Order is converted into a Work Order. How do you set this up. How will it look like when printing the relevant Work ORder to show that there is a requirement for a Req/PO to be generated? is it possible if you can send me a sample work Order. Also, how would I know the difference between a standard PO against a sub-con PO ? Would it have a different PO type shown

Hi Edison,

you can maintain the specific operation as external operation through PP02 control key in the routing

if it is a sub contracting means for that operation whatever material you are using that has to define as a F-30 in the material master

while converting main planned order to production order system will generate the PR for the specified external operation

you can covert that PR to PO and do the GRN then use that material for further operation while making the operational confirmation through CO11N

Also, when the subcon PO is raised and still not received, will this PO show as outstanding when running a shortage report for the relevant Production Order?

Thanks,

Edison

Hi Edison,

obviously it will show as a shortage i.e. once you have done the GRN against that PO then only stock will come to your premises

by using that stock only Production team can be able to perform the production. if the material is not there means they won't able to do any thing right

Could you send me a screenshot sample of a Production Order showing a shortage of a subcon PO. we do not issue materials in SAP as it's a service being performed that is on the subcon PO. Thanks

Hello R,

Thanks for the documents. I would like to do an operation subcontracting e.g. we want to send a sub-assy for torquing in a vendor premesis and back to us for further assembly (we do not want to issue materials on the subcon PO) basically this is subcon PO for service.

Also, when the subcon PO is raised and still not received, will this PO show as outstanding when running a shortage report for the relevant Production Order?

Thanks,

Edison
