Creating a Stock Transport Requisition

Hi all,

Can a Stock Transport Requisition be directly triggered by running a MPS/MRP? Or is it only possible to generate a Purch.Req. which later on can be converted to a STO?

Can MRP/MPS trigger production of the material in a different plant?

Thanks in advance...

Hi Deepak,

It is possible.

Use special proc key 40 for material in MRP 2 view, in the parent plant.

Define the plant for stock transport (from where you intend to receive the material)in SPRO under special proc key 40.

Maintain the material in the other plant too.

Carry out MRP run with "Create purchase req = 1 - Purchase requisitions" in parent plant.

It will directly create Stock Transport Requisition.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Deepak,

In continuation of the previous answer...

If you use special proc key 40 in the parent plant (plant-A), a stock transport PR is created in the parent plant, at the same time a planned order or purchase requisition is created in the other plant(B), based on the procurement type defined in MRP2 in this plant (B).

You can also use special proc key 80 in the parent plant (A). In this case a planned order will be created with planning plant as the parent plant(A) and production plant as the other plant (B).

You can convert the planned order into production order in the other plant(B). When you hit a GR against this order, the stock is directly updated in the parent plant (A).
