Creating a Primary Cost Element for Balance Sheet Account?

Hello All,

Can we Create a Balance Sheet Account as a Cost Element?

can i know the reason why it can or cannot be created so?

Hi,

Normally we need to create Stock Accounts(B/S item) as cost elements with CE category 90 (default) for updating Budget Availability in case of Project System.

As per my knowledge, there are no other requirement to create B/S item as Cost Element.

Hello Thanks for your reply,

Here in our client place they maintianed few accounts like material consumption accounts are maintained by our client as Balance Sheet accounts in there legacy system and consultants have mapped them in P&L account with cost element category 1.

Now i want to know if i take that P&L Account and keep it in my balance sheet side of my FSV is there any problem in that?

will i be able to carry forward my balances to the next year or will they flow to the retained earnings account
