Counting repairs on instruments

Hi

We are using serial numbers for our products.

This product can come for repair from customer. We want to count how many times it has been repaired in past before starting repair activity.

This can be done by finding serial number history. Is there is any report which will give history by putting serial number / material or equipment.

I dont want to follow IE03 / IQ03.

If you have any better ideas please inform

Had your repairs been through PM Order, your query would have been simpler.

You can do one thing.

COOIS is the Production Info Tcode.

Here in the selection-screen,use F4 help of 'Material' field and use search help 'Material by serial number' (if it is available).

If it is not available, your technical person can make it available.

Please let me know which  order type/order category are you using for planning and executing such repairs.. It should be either a Maintenance order in PM or a  Service order in CS module.
