All,
May I know if there is a standard SAP transaction in WM to allow performs physical inventory count on interim storage bin?
We need system to have such functionality as one of our interim bin in our warehouse storing many temporary stock quantities which need to audit it.
I tried to used LI01N, however, I hits the following error when trying to enter count of the interim storage bin (a PO number).
Quant 0000000065 for storage bin 4500000290 cannot be counted

There are three possible reasons why this error might occur:

Request clarification before answering.
System never stop you to do you can define the inventory method under LE---WM ---Activities -- Physical inventory ----Define inventory type
you can see that the possible reason says that either the TO is open or stock is negative or open HU inventory exist for the quant
however operationally performing physical count in interim bin is not possible as this area exist virtually in system and no physical marking available inside the warehouse so if the user has to count it is very difficult to identify which stock belong to which dynamic bin

The solution was within the answer, if you want count in an interim bin, then you have to define the inventory type for this storage type.
But this has actually nothing to do with the error message that you posted.
Since it is not possible to count something what is just moving - where do you want to count it? in its original bin, or in the target bin? - you have to close those open transfer orders to be able to count something, either you cancel the TO and you will count it in the original bin, or you confirm the TO and count it in the target bin.
Hi Jargon and Manish,
I have tested on the system that interim storage bin is able to count if the WM putaway process does not involve delivery just so long if a transfer order is not create.
But, it will become a problem if the negative stock is generated, which is derive from a putaway stage involving delivery. This is because R/3 does not allow activation of the physical inventory document during L101N. Hence, my question are following:
1 - Is there any user-exist in the system that make the R/3 allow activation for negative stock in sthis kind of process?
2 - If such kind of scenario (having negative stock allows activation of the physical inventory document), may I know what sort of implication it can have later on? especially the stock figure between IM and WM?
Thanks,
Tuff
counting negative stock is physically not possible. Negative positions have to be cleared before a physical inventory is conducted. This is the problem with negative stocks, they always make it into foreground at the worst timing.
Work on a process that allows you finally to turn off the negative stock. Negative stock indicates are wrong business process, and evidence is that it is still there and nobody seems to care about it.
