Cost center related error "Cost Center is locked against direct postings" impacting HCM

Hi,

In SAP, when we don't want to allow any posting to cost centre, in KS02 we just set the lock flag for all the expenses.

Lock (flag Actual primary costs). InEmployee Central, this flag is mapped to the status of the cost centre:

• If the lock flag is not set in SAP ERP, the status of the cost centre isActiveinEmployee Central.
• If the lock flag is set inSAP ERP, the status of the cost centre isInactiveinEmployee Central.

And In HCM we are getting an error, "Cost Centre is locked against direct postings", we cannot change the history records in Success factor and chance the cost centre to the unlocked once.

How should we resolve this error, can we change the validity end date instead of setting the lock flag?

Please suggest.

Hi renunaidu,

Yes, you can create same cost center with different analysis period.

Ex: Cost Center "A"- you can block the actual postings from 01.01.2020 to 030.05.2020 and you can unblock the same cost center 01.06.2020 to 31.12.999. in this case you can post cost to from first interval period but you can't post to the second interval of period. Before post to previous period check with FI consultant that postings to previous allowed or not.

Hi Raju Potharaju,

Well, I try to change the validity end date to 1st Aug 2020, but then the issue is I am getting error "Deletion is not possible (dependent records exist in table)".

On future date, there is no posting, yet I am getting this error, well when I check the where used-list over all view one internal order was shown but ofcourse the value is ZERO, any idea how can I get rid of it.
