Cost center posting

Hi Experts,

Can you please advice, how the Balance sheet accounts will post to a cost center, is this through some configuration or any user exit?

Also, why do Tax GL accounts not post to the cost center? Please advice.

Hi KSRKSR,

As I know. The cost center does not updated for tax line item which automatically generated.

To update this, I think you should use FI Substitution.

First, define and assign Substitution in t-code OBBH.

Then you have to maintain the rule for substitution the cost center in tax line item in t-code: GGB1

Hi,

Cost centers are meant for P&L accounts not for Balance sheet accounts. These are to control and monitor the costs departmentwise.

Hi,

Posting to balance sheet acounts does not create CO document (there are some exception for statistical postings for assets accounts). Though, you can assign cost centre to these documents and its info will be stored in BSEG table.

Hi Eli,

Thanks for the response,

We are entering cost center details in the internal conumption order at header level in the Account assignment tab.

Based on this entry, the cost center is posting into both the P&L account and BL sheet account but not to TAX GL ACCOUNTS,

Our concern is how this cost center is not posting to Tax GL account but it is psoting to other BL accounts.

PS: It is creating documents (Accounting document ,Profit Center document and Controling document).

Hi,

Two things:

a) for posting on balance sheet accounts, cost centre may be present, but no CO line is created. Cost centre, in this case, simply stays in the FI document as informative field

b) if lines posted on certain balance sheet accounts do not adopt cost centre, it could be due to the fact that this field is hidden in the field status for these accounts

Hi Eli,

Thanks for sharing the information. We have already changed field status group for Gl accounts (tax and Balance sheet accounts) even though it is not working, the cost center field is not a mandatory field.

We are checking is there any user exit causing for this.
