copying same serial numbers maintained at sales order level to all subassemblies

We have a scenario where we want to copy same serial numbers maintained at sales order level to all subassemblies, this is required to track status of subassemblies at various level. All sub assemblies are inhouse manufactured. Please suggest configuration in SAP S/4 Hana Cloud.

I think you need to do customization to copy the Serial numbers to the subassembiles. You can check with your technical team.Hope it helps.

Let's break it down from a different perspective.

> The serial number use and assign: You can configure to use or assign serial number at different area by "define serial number profile" via manage your solution (2SL) or CBC (3SL). from business a perspective, and base on past experience, if the product is produced in-house, usually the serial number will be assigned by particular step in production order process (like order creation or released).  if the serial number is used at sales order level, Either the item is on-hands stock ，or an item serial number proposal can be obtained using "get Proposal" in the relevant production order, but for the subassembly goods production order won't get the proposal as well. refer to: Serial Numbers in Production Orders | SAP Help Portal

> The serial number tracing functionality: Since 2402 in S/4HANA Cloud Public edition, user can tracing the serial number lifecycle data base on the goods movement document by using Fiori app" Serial number history" , and the system provide both the list and Graph to review the history. refer to more information: Serial Number History | SAP Help Portal

> back to this scenario, are you asking for the specific customized for the serial number ? or you want have the serial number history record at all of the relevant material level , not only for the product who has assigned serial number, but also for the subassemblies in production order component list for the product？

Is it possible to copy the Serial Number assigned at sales order level to all the SubAssemblies of the main Finished Product that is assigned Serial number at Sales Order level instead of Production orders. is this possible, if yes can you please kindly guide here.
