Copying PLD from one DB to another

Hi,

I have tried copying PLD from one DB to another by selecting copy&paste method as given in the Forum.When I am trying to paste the copied PLD to the Target PLD I am not getting the option of pasting(right click).Can anyone help?

Hi,

Copy Express Add-On is more flexible to use, for copying PLD, Master Data, etc. you can actually download it from the Service market place.

Hi,

you cant copy the PLD from one different company to another, but you can copy paste on the same company. What you can do is to copy manually the settings of the original PLD, open each company PLD properties then manually copy the values. It might be tiring but its much better rather making it from scratch.

Please follow these steps to copy PLD from one DB(Test DB) to another DB(Live DB)

1. Login to the Test DB and open the PLD. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'

2. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'

3. Copy All the fields (select copy from Edit Menu)

4. Click on Administration and select Choose Company and login to the Live DB.

Note: Donot Logoff from the Test DB)

5. Open the PLD in Live DB. Click on menu 'Print Layout Designer' and select 'Display Hidden Fields'

6. Goto Edit Menu and select 'Select All'

7. Delete All the fields

8. Now Paste the fieds which you copied from 'Test DB'.

Note:

Ensure that the Document Properties like Width, Height, Top Margin, LeftMargin etc.., are same before pasting in 'Live DB'

The above mentioned would be the simplest way. Alternatively you may also try out using Copy Express Addon as Muhammed Rashid has recommended
