Hi,
I think shakedown test is not just done for authencity of the data. The test can also be called as Stress test.
This test is done to verify how many users can have access to the system at same point of time. This is done especially when there are lot of interfaces.
During testing, a particular time is fixed for conducting this test. At that time, lot of users will be asked to execute a particular transaction from various locations, giving various data, etc and teh system performance will be measured for the transaction.
Also they send some messages to a particular interface through, lets say IDOC and measure how much data can be send ina minute or so.
This kind of test is also called as Crash test and is used in implementation projects and for every roll out further.
Hope this helps you
