#CoE#ST01 Fail to set the follow-up material in the material with alternative group

Hello, there is a requirement in our business process.

We have two material which are in the same alternative group in BOM with alternative strategy 2(Use possibility).

P04-0308TEST Usage Probability was set equal to 100%.

P04-0803TEST-2 Usage Probability was set equal to 0%.

Now, we want to add a follow-up material to P04-0308TEST as P04-0308TEST-1 with valid date 2021/6/23.

Then we create a production order with date 2021/6/23 and its components include these two material.

In previous case, due to Usage Probability, all requirements were in P04-0308TEST if the stock of P04-0308TEST is plenty.

However, we found P04-0803TEST-2 occurred the same requirement as P04-0308TEST after setting the follow-up material P04-0308TEST-1.

That means the total requirement will be double.

Is there any way to fix this problem or how to maintain the material with both follow-up material and alternative material?

Hi ChengYu Rao,

The following combinations are currently not possible:

A discontinuation group (simple or parallel discontinuation) within an alternative group. In this case, feature 'Member of alternative group' is deleted (as well as the usage probability) so that only one discontinuation component is taken into account.
