Clearing Open Documents (Invoice and Credit Note) using API

Hello Experts,

We are looking for a ByDesign API (Custom or Standard) where we can pass in document references (e.g Invoice with amount $500 against Credit Memo with amount -$500) and these documents clear out each other. This clearing would be posted from an external system.

This is possible using Remmitance Advice or Bank Advices if payment is involved and we reference the documents.
