Clarification about BS22 Changes for System Status in SAP maintained table

Do SAP consider changes made in T Code: BS22 as custom modifications or SAP allows customers to make changes in this SAP Maintained table and consider it as Standard configuration?

I0045 TECO Technically completed

Standard setup provided for TECO is that a TECO'ed Production Order cannot be used in a Purchase Order.

But Business want to use a TECO Production Order in a Purchase Order, and to achieve this we should change the standard setting from "Forbidden" to "Allowed" in BS22.

I want to know whether this is allowed by SAP or do SAP consider this as custom modification and will stop supporting in this area after we make this change.

Also, just fyi. In one of my implementation I have done changes in BS22 and later raised of the issue and got support by sap.

I would close this question as I think I will look for development than making change in BS22. But I understand now, it is still a possibility to do in BS22 and that may overwritten in some cases.
