Changing Data element to RFC

Former Member

Hi all,

I've created new data element to RFC z-FM. Later I've added new parameters to my FM, but it does not reflected in Admin console, even if I create another new data element. How can I use the same RFC with altered parameters? Where nakisa stores information about RFC interface? (I don't want to create new FM every time when parameters are changing.)

Best regards,

Sergei,

Can you check you have activated your function module in SAP since you changed the FM parameters.

Stephen,

Sure

Here is sequence of actions:

1) Create RFC FM

2) Plug it to nakisa as new data element

3) Add new parameter to FM

4) Plug again(create second data element) - no new parameter in 'Import parameters' step of wizard...

Sergey

When you say "Sure", do you mean you have definitely saved and activated the function module.

Is it released? (SE37 - Function Module -> Release -> Release)

Hi Stephen.

Saved and activated I mean.

After your post I have performed 'Release'(never use it before). It makes no effect also. My OrgChart is 3.0 SP2 (build 239).

Hi Sergey,

Has your function module ever displayed data in the "Edit/Create new data element connecting to SAP RFC" wizard or in the application?

The data element that uses the function module will be found in

..\<build>\.delta\AppResources\dataelementconfiguration with the name defined during the "Create New Data Elemen" stage of the "Edit/Create new data element connecting to SAP RFC" wizard.

You should be able to change parameters in this file so you don't need to reconnect your function module to the application.

Hi Luke,

Yes, data displayed (correctly only at first using of FM before it was changed) and data element is working (retrieves data in Detail).

Thanks for info about xml. Looks like true Nakisa consultant don't need Admin console at all:)
