Hi,

Every company has got there own method of tracking changes, so far I have seen companies using "Lotus Notes database", E-Room it can also be a simple excel sheet shared and controlled by password, MS Access etc...

Hi,

Every change has got its associated cost and it can also affect the other functionality or system performance. Change request can be a new configuration or change in existing configuration or new program creation or changes requested in exisisting program.

1. Change request is requested by the enduser

2. It needs to be approved by the Business Process owners for the need.

3. Once it is approved feasibility study is done by the IT team and they provide a possible solution and an esitmate for implememetation.

4. The estimate goes for approval by Business Process owners.

5. On approval of estimate IT team creates a plan and implments the solution.

Part of the Implementation steps include, Prototype, Unit Testing and Integration Testing in Testing Client, User acceptance and sign off , before it is finally implemented in Production System.

Dear Dreamy Bean,

Change Request is you can say a new report required by the client side or to

modify 1 configuration setting or to modify already created report or a program.

This will be maintained properly with historical datas for further reference purpose.

Generally continous or frequent change request will not be accepted by the

implementation partner side, because this will create discrepancies in a way or

the other.

Reward points if useful.
