while creating bom with cs01, it gives info message stating "enter change no- bom has history req" as i ticked history in os27. pls advise where to enetr this change no and what is the use of this no?

Dear Yadav,

Create a change number using T Code CC01 and without release key if you want to make the changes to be effective

immediately or else with release key if you want to make it effective later on.

Include the tick mark for the first 3 check boxes against the object BOM,enter the valid from date as today's date or else as per

your business requirement.

Once after creating the change number,use this while creating or changing the BOM.

If the change number is created with release key then after making the BOM changes,goto CC02,and set the release key as 01

and save the data.

Engineering Change number will be used,when you want to maintain change history of an object.In a typical system development cycle, the specification is likely to change during engineering development . These last-minute design changes are commonly referred to as engineering change and affect the functionality of a design after it has been fully or partially completed. ECN can compensate for design errors found during changes that are made to the design specification to compensate for design problems in other areas of the system design.

We have to create ECNumber in CC01 where you have to specify change from date and Object you want to assign .Then with refrence to this number you can change the Object(here BOM) so that change history will be maintained.

Dear,

First you need to create the change number in CC01 then you can use in craetion or change in BOM through change number in CS01 or CS02 instital you will get change number filed. Change number is use to tark the changes in BOM and to do the future chnges in BOM with change number.

Change no. is used to identify a change master record ( used generally in engineering change management). You can assign this no. externally or internally.
