Yes, it can be done this way. However, if you want to maintain info records, you can set the "Pr. date Cat." (price determination date control) in info record to:

1. Purchase order date - PO date will determine which price to copy from info records.

2. Delivery date - For example, you create a PO in June, but your order will be delivered in July. So, in your PO, your delivery date is set to July. Your PO then will copy July pricing entered in your info records.

3. Current date

4. Manual

5. GR Date.

Take your pick.

Hope this helps.

If your Price is going to Change Once in a Month, then you need to maintain the MMD price as Standard.

and for every period you can change the Price through MR21 Trxn..

also maintain the Info record, during PO creation the system will propose the last Price but you can change the Price as per the Current market Price...

By maintaining the Standard price, you will be able to know the Price difference for different periods..

Typically for non ferrous metals the process is a little more complex and requires price fixings (with due dates). In case you are dealing with alloys of any kind, it becomes even more complex as the structure of the master will be insufficient in the standard. We have built a solution for that purpose also dealing with metal book based risk management and other thing. Send me an email in case you need additional information.

hi ,

First of all you maintain material master price as moving average price and then raise the PO .What ever amount you maintain in PO it will get updated in MMR price .Ath the tim eof raising PO you might be aware of the price and since copper doesnt have a standard price.

IN THE CUSTOMISING , MAINTAIN THE INDICATOR FOR "PRICE IS CHANGEABLE IN PO"

(PB00).

NOW , DURING PO CREATION, EVEN IF SYSTE PORPOSES PRICE FROM INFORECORD,YOU CAN MANUALLY OVERRIDE THE INFO RECORD PROPOSED PRICE AND SPECIFY THE LATEST PRICE ON THE PO.
