Change in Company Name with date effect

Hello Expert,

I have received one requirement from the customer that, They want to change the company name to some other name but with date effect. e.g. let say, they have company name called ABC LTD. but now from 1st July onwards they wanted to change the name as XYZ LTD.

However whatever transaction has been done till now with the name of ABC LTD should not affect i.e. it should reflect only ABC LTD till 30th June and transaction made from 1st July onwards should reflect XYZ LTD.

Please reply if anyone have come across with this kind of requirement.

Hi,

Not possible to prevent chage in previous document

As data element field AD_NAME1 DON'T have valid from to date

kindly raise requirement to SAP and take gauidence from SAP

Once you chance the Customer's company name in his Master Record it would be reflected everywhere in the system (Sales Orders, Invoices, Ledger Accounts, etc).

The option you have to close all the open transactions on 30th June & then change the name on 1st July & create new documents.

But if the above is not possible, then another option (which is not recomended) would be to create a seperate code for the New Customer Name & then start new transactions in new Code from 1st July. But this would lead to tracking issues specially in Shipping & Accounts Recievable...
