is there a document on how one can do root cause analysis(RCA) in SAP EAM? if there is one kindly provide the link or share the document

Is that about carrying out RCA on the SAP ERP software

Are you rather looking to model a business process for a Root Cause Analysis in maintenance in SAP PM?

For the latter, a simple solution may be to create Notifications with Reference to the original malfunction notificaitons, and use Catalogue codes as Maheswaran KD suggests. You can report using the standard notification lists and document flow.

What exactly you looking from RCA??

There is a way to maintain Catalogs in Notification to mention the Object Part, Damage & Causes. Will it solve your purpose??

What i am looking is a document outlining how we can document a an RCA on a defect of an equipment in the plant. the link simply covers RCAs to do with IT systems, i think.
