cannot remove the serial number profile in Change Material App

I'm not able to remove the serial number profile in material master, there is no stock and no open PO and no open sale orders for that materials.

Its showing the error ' Serial numbers already assigned to this material Message' no. M3418

How can i remove the serial number profile ?

In SAP standard it's not possible to remove the serial number profile in the material master once there are serial numbers for the material. You would have to archive the serial numbers first using object PM_OBJLIST . This is to ensure inconsistencies do not arise by removing the profile.

If archiving is not possible then the alternative is to use the workaround as outlined in the note https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/71997 and replacing the profile with a dummy profile that does not contain any business transactions instead
