Cancel future depreciation

Dear Expert,

My user accidentally run depreciation for period 14/2016. Supposedly, he should run for period 5/2016. Since period 14/2016 is close for posting, depreciation is giving an error 'Period closed'. But when he change back to period 5/2016, depreciation is not allowed because there is an error message 'Last posting run terminated (Restart in period 2016 014)'.

How can i cancel this depreciation in period 14/2016? Should i allow its to run in period 14 and then re-run period 5?

Hi,

You cannot run the depreciation for the period 5. In SAP, you can run the depreciation for 2 periods only i.e.last period with repeat mode & current period with planned mode. You can allow posting for period 14.

ok. i'm not sure what is the best way but can you suggest whether my step is correct:

1. allow depreciation in period 14.

2. change depreciation key.

3. re-run depreciation in period 5 (not sure whether it will allow or not).

4. change back the depreciation key to original.

5. re-run depreciation in period 5.

I really not sure whether it will work if dep run in period 14 and then re-run the depreciation in period 5 because value in period 14 will still be there right?

Hello

Yes you can change table entries, using a program from the note

once you do afab for P14, you can't run for P5 again

Hi,

Yes, you are right. As I said earlier you cannot run for period 5.

Hello

I think maintaining table entry in Table TABA is the solution

you can search forum. You will find the procedure

There is a Sap note which offers program to do this.
