Can the B1 SDK run a (user) query with form variables?

I.e. $[OCRD.CardCode] or $[$4.0] or something like that, obviously the form would have to be open. The idea would be to use the result of the query, not to display it, so simulating clicking on the menu item would not work.

You could achieve this, on HANA, via the User Defined Query service in the XS App Framework.

Well the problem with the XS App Framework and HANA development in general is the videos in the B1_HANADEV_LM_EN_92 show "deprecated" in the title and there is no newer version. So not sure where to learn it.
