Business Consolidation query

Hi experts,

I am BI consultant working on SEM-BCS .We have a requirement to get GL account level information in the consolidated queries.Is it a good option to add the GL account as well in BCS layout as I feel this would defy the entire idea of consolidation ? Since consolidation is across company codes it has only the group account and not the G/L accnt. Can you please suggest ?

Hi Ashwin,

It all depends on how the GLs are mapped. If you maintain a 1:1 relationship between the GL account (R3/ECC) and the Financial statement item (BCS), then you can get a GL level information in the consolidated financial statements.

If the mapping is 1:many, then you may not get the individual GL wise data.

However, as you rightly said, if you try to bring in all the GL level data in the consolidated statements, it may not serve the real purpose.
