How the equipment BOM is controled on the material planning of maintenance spares.

In bom creation i alloted spares for the equipment in compents and quantity also

pls explain the working process

Hi charles,

By maintiang the items in equipment BOM, they are not planned for maintenance execution. Maintenance of BOM helps in easy planning of components as in maintenance order you can select the parts specific to Equipment using Equipment BOM..User dont have to spend time in searching for part number ,qty,& item category for the parts..Hope this explains the importance of BOM
