Hi Experts,
we have a requirement to block planning for 10 days.
The actual requirement is that there is a work center(F100) which is being used by maintenance team for 10 days, during which the planning should not happen for all the materials which are using this workcenter and in addition to this the finish date has to be reshedule to ahead of the planning period.
let me explain with an example,
Operation Work center
10 A100
20 F100
30 C100
Ind req/dep req date: 10.07.2012
MRP run is done with lead time scheduling.
After MRP run, planned order finish date: 05.08.2012 (Forward scheduling)
Now work center F100 is to be blocked from 20.07.2012 to 30.07.2012
After the MRP run, the planned order finish date should be 20.07.2012 instead of 05.08.2012 (as the blocking period is between 20.07 to 30.07)
How to map this requirement in SAP? Appreciate your suggestions and feedback.
Note : Factory calendar can be used, but as it affects other modules we have dropped this option.
Thank you

dear,
run SCAL , select your factory calendar and create a new record in Special Rules.
re-run MRP

Hi Adnan,
You can try the 2 opitions -
1- If you are using shift intervals, go to INtervals and shifts, click on add interval, give the valid from and to dates as the dates between which you do not want the work center to be used, and in the workdays column for this entry give the "0" option(Non-working days (overrides factory calendar)). This will make the work center as non-workable for that period.
2- You can create a temporary factory calendar for the work center with the required days as holidays, and assign it to the required work centers.

Hi Amol, Thank you for your reply.
I have already tried the option 1, using this the operation dates are shifted but the requirement is that if a material is using a work center which is to be blocked then the finish date of the planned order itself has to be reshedule to start of the blocking period.
regarding option 2, will it be possible to meet the above requirement?
Also can we block MRP for a production scheduler and move all the planned orders ahead of the blocking period? if yes, please let me know how we can do it.
Thank you again
Adnan
Hi Adnan,
Regarding option 2 ,as you had said the factory calendar is used by other modules, I suggested to create a new factory calendar and assign this to the work centers that are to be blocked. This way u will not touch the other modules and the planning will be done based on the calendar assigned to the work center.
I don't think you can block for the production scheduler. You can try by running MRP for MRP controller if the MRP controllers are different for the work centers, don't run the MRP for those MRP controllers who have the work centers to be blocked.
