Dear All
I am PM consultant & want to configure a process of stopping posting the breakdown maintenance notification once one breakdown is already reported against it & not yet completed.
What are the possible ways for doing this?
Regards
Makarand Gurjar

MG,
This may be restrictive if you have different defects for the same equipment.
It could be possible to have several minor defects, found over a period of time, that you want to correct at (for example) shut down.
Some could be repaired when time allows and others left open until later.
Have you considered using the object information automatic pop-up?
This indicates that there are other existing notifications to "warn" of possible duplicates.

H.SB,
Personnaly, I agree with your comments above.
But I had a very similar request some years back in which only one active notification was allowed for an equipment.
We used QQMA0014 and also had to build-in authority-checks to allow certain people to by-pass this functionality (supervisor in this case)

Makarand Gurjar,
You could perform the check at save using user-exit [QQMA0014|http://pjatkin.users.btopenworld.com/documents/PMCSUserExits.pdf] (Checks before saving a notification) but this may be a little late.
I'm not sure if there is a suitable user-exit before this time.
