Blocking Material

Hi All,

Can anyone tell me where do we can Block the Material? Can u guys pls give me exact location?

Please look into it..

SPRO --> Materials Management --> General Settings for Materials Management --> Set Material Block

Hi Murali,

We can block the material from Material Master. Go to T code MM02 and on the Basic Data 1 Screen we have a option Plant Material Status. Here you can chose the status , Block for procurement or for all modules , based on the requirents.

I hope this will solve your purpose. Just triger me points if it helped you.

Hi,

I think with this we can block the material from use for other plants only. I just want to block the material for all plants. By using Plant material Status field we can block the material for certain plants only.

If this is wrong can anyone correct me?

Hello Murali,

There are two material status

1. Crosss plant material status "X-plant material status" which is in General basic data. This applicable for all the plants

2. Plant specific material status which is in Purchasing view which is applicable for particular plant.

Hi,

If you want a material to be blocked, go to transaction MM02 and select the Basic data 1 view of the material, there in the general data you have " X-plant material status". Also in Cost estimate 1 view of the material you have Plant Specific Material status. Use the options available to block the material in these two views.

Once done, you cannot use the material in sales order.
