Hi,

Batch determination

In the logistics process, that is from procurement to sales, you are required time and again to specify batches for individual business transactions. You can use batch determination for all types of goods movements from the warehouse to find batches that meet defined specifications.

In Inventory Management (IM), you can use batch determination in goods movements when you are dealing with a goods issue posting (for instance, a consumption posting to a cost center), with a stock transfer or with a transfer posting.

In Production (PP/PP-PI) you can use batch determination in production and process orders and run schedule headers to find suitable material components for the product to be produced, and to pick these from stock.

In Sales and Distribution (SD), it is possible to determine batches that match customer specifications. Batch determination can be triggered at two points in the process, either when the sales order is entered, or when the delivery is created.

In the Warehouse Management System (WM), batch determination is used to optimize warehousing, for example, in view of stock removal strategies and replenishment from stores.

The following customizing steps for Batch Management are as follow:

1. Create Characteristics, CT04, maintain data type, value assigned single or multiple, values for you want to maintain batch, Restriction field-023(batch)

2.Create Class,CL02,Class type -023, and assign Characteristic here

3.In material master, select classification view and tick batch management

4.1 Go to Logistic General->Batch Management->Batch Det and back Chk->Condition table-> Define Inventory Management Condition table

4.2 Like wise Define Access Sequence,

4.3 Strategy Types,

4.4 batch Search Procedure,

4.5 Batch Search Procedure and allocation,

4.6 Condition Record: Logistic->Central Function->Batch Management-> Batch Determination->Batch search Strategy->For Inventory Management-> Create

Hi,

Batch Management you doing means , you just subdividing the material according to its characterstics of material.

The Customisation steps are:

1.Create Characterstics,

2.Create Class,(Note:Class 023- For batch Management))

3.In material master, select classification view and tick batch management

4.Go to Logistic General->Batch Management->Batch Det and back Chk->Condition table-> Define Inventory Management Condition table

4.2 . Like wise Define Acess Sequense,

4.3.Strategy Types,

4.4.batch Serch Procedure,

4.5.Batch Srech Procedure and allocation,

4.6..Condition Record: Logistic->Central Function->Batch Management-> Batch Determination->Batch serch Stratergy->For Inventory Manament-> Create

Once you do all customising steps,Then you can receive the material as per you requirement.Example....Lets say H2SO4,you are receiving 98%,70% and 50% purity.According to you requirement and supply from Vendor you can keep in three different batches.This characterstic of material you can maintain in creating the characterstic ,,step-1.

for more check the link:

Note:Batch management existing material can not be done if it has stock and value.You can keep stock value NIL (By reversing) and then proceed with batch management.
