B1TC (Business One Test Composer) is an automation
testing tool for B1. It provides a simple way to record
and replay scenarios for testing purposes, but it can
also be employed in many other use cases. It complements
B1DE and B1TE to form a complete set of development and
testing tools.
You can download it from SDN at
As usual the setup comes with the source code as well,
under the SDN license schema. The setup contains all the
user documentation and also internal design details.
We have created a SDN Blog for B1TC at
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/5004. [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken]
This blog lists the latest news and limitations found in
the current version of the tool. You can also use this
blog to give us feedback: we are interested in your
opinion!

Hi
I have noted we can load a data file against a script, but cant find the documentaiton for this. Is there any info on what format these dtc files need to be in and what info from the script they need to contain, and if the script needs to be updated to use the data file?

Hi Brodie,
When you record an script and you save it you have 3 files saved: File.std, File.stc and File.dtc.
File.dtd contains an standard test description
File.stc contains the actions saved and follows ScriptSchema.xsd
File.dtc contains the data of the actions saved and follows DataSchema.xsd.
You have a description of the different files in the V1TCConcept&Architecture.doc stored in the same directory you installed B1TC, section "XML format: actions and data".
The goal of having the Stc and Dtc files is the possibility to run the same actions with different sets of datas. Script and Data files must follow their corresponding Xsd formats, they are controlled when you load them in the B1TC application.

Trinidad.
Hello Bagnoli,
This my fisrt time to see the B1TC tools, formly known our partners and LPEs would like to record the demonstration via webex, it can record all the processing steps. I did the test on this and found some operations can't be recorded properly, so I want to know what's the diffrence between these 2 tools?
Appreciate your soon reply.

Challen

Hi Challen,
I don't know whether I understood your question, but I will try to answer.
WebEx is a tool to register presentations, it doesn't have anything to do with B1.
B1TC is a tool based in B1 SDK and it's goal is to save scenarios and replay them for testing purposes. It could be used for example to run several scenarios all nights and do regression tests.
As it is a new tool there can be limitations we haven't think about and also limitations due to B1 SDK interface. Please feel free to send comments regarding B1TC in the Weblog dedicated to it at: /people/mariatrinidad.martinezgea/blog/2006/11/20/sap-business-one-test-composer

Intrastat adds a lot of fields on document line level with FS on, and the problem is there with the fields on line level. Sorry for not being clear on that.

Hi Jurgen,
As a Moderator I have some more options than you, but I didn't know about this one.
I have also the possibility to see the email from people registered, but yours is null... Do you receive emails from SDN forum? Is it correct in your profile? Do you have a place I can access to have the files? Or can you please give me your email so I can send you mine to receive the files?
Trinidad.
Strange...
I have installed Intrastat addon in my machine and I started it.
I have B1 2005 SP01 PL12 and instrastat version is 6.80.01.30 (the last one I have found)
Are you working with the same versions?
If I try to record the same actions as you:
1. Click on Sales-A/R menu
2. Click on Sales Order menu
(it opens Sales Order form)
3. Stop recording
I can only see 3 lines (your first 3) and not the Set Matrix lines...
In the matrix columns for the UDFs I cannot see any Formatted search associated... if I press Shift + alt + F2 there is not FS.
The only explanation can be the B1 or addon version?
Or do you have an extra configuration?
Regards
Trinidad.
Did you test this with user defined fields that have an "auto refresh" formatted search (like the fields created with the intrastat addon).
Because this gives unreplayable scenarios in our environments.
Just record opening a sales order with intrastat installed and the problem is reproduced.
Anyone the same experience?

Hi Jurgen,
I haven't Intrastat installed, but I have added a formatted search in a UDF of the header (visible in the -139 form) with a FS refreshed automatically when field "Customer/Vendor Code" changes and another in a UDF in the lines with a FS refreshed automatically when field "ItemNo" changes.
I can record and replay the creation of a new SalesOrder without any problem.
Which action are you doing? Can you please attach the Script and Data files you obtain while recording?
Have you tried to stop Instrastat addon and see if there is a difference or not?
Regards
Trinidad.
We developed a similar solution some months ago to allow our customers to 'Record' their own macros, which could be replayed later.
We'll have to test your program, since we found some things which could not be properly captured/reproduced; and maybe you've found the correct way to achieve it.
Thanks for sharing this tools!
