Hi All,

We have signed up to SAP B1 Hana which is hosted on AWS. The SAP partner have given access via the browse which is very limited and is annoying to use. Once i am logged onto RDWeb i am presented with the below resources and do not have a normal RDP windows sessions.

My question is why cant they just provide a desktop experience similar to how user log onto the company RDP session.

Are other users on the cloud hosted by AWS have the same restriction or can we apply directly to the partner to have RDP environment windows session?

Funny story - I was in the exact same position as you just a couple months ago. And agree, having to go through that AWS login is not a fun experience every day. I was given a pdf document called "HOW TO CONFIGURE WINDOWS FOR B1 REMOTE APP" to be able to set up the remote desktop on the computers. There is an issue at times with going that route IF you upgraded to Windows 11 and use a multi-tenant cloud server supposedly. So I would double check if there would be any issue for you. Unfortunately I cannot upload the pdf document with the screenshots I have, but here are steps:

How to Configure Windows for B1 Remote App:
1.- Click on the Start icon at the bottom left-hand side of your desktop (see
below).
2.-On the search bar type RemoteApp, and from the Best match list select the one
titled RemoteApp and Desktop Connections (see below).
3.-A new window will appear. Select the Access RemoteApp and desktops option
on the left-hand side (see below).
4.-Type in the customer url as shown below and click on Next.

--EXAMPLE: https://<customerurl>/RDWeb/Feed/webfeed.aspx

5.- On the Ready to set up the connection window, select Next (see below).
6.- You will be prompted for your credentials. Please enter them as shown below.
Make sure you select the option: Remember me if you don’t want the system to ask
for your credentials when you access it (See below).
7.-The System will now proceed to add your resources, and will ask you to confirm
one last time, so please click on Next to complete the setup (see below).
8.-If the Setup is successful, you will receive a confirmation window. Click on Finish
to close the setup window (see below).
Accessing your Resources
Your resources are now available as part of your Windows programs, so you can
either browse by name (see below). *Note that the name will be followed by (work
Resources)
Or by looking inside your All programs list, under Work Resources (see below).
*Note that all other resources published will also be available in the same location.
You can even pin your resources to your task bar if you so choose by right clicking
on the icon and selecting More and then Pin to taskbar (see below)
The icon will appear in your taskbar (see below) as if it was a part of your local
machine.
Finally note that you might get a Window asking you if you trust the publisher. You
can avoid this window by clicking on the Don’t ask me again for remote
connections from this publisher and clicking on Connect (see below)

Hope this helps you!!!

Perfect, just what i am after.

The partner is reluctant to provide such access and keeps trying to add additional icon onto our webportal which I cannot get use to.

Can you let me know how you went about requesting RDP access? i cant even seem to gain access to Hana Studio to run query on similar to how SQL management studio which i used to use daily.
